Spring has sprung me free!

The semester is OVER! It's a very happy thing to know that I have made it through the first year of coursework. Check out the Go-hort celebrating! People keep saying we are 1/4 doctors... but I'll reserve that title for when I actually get to the dissertation. It could take that long, you know! Just kidding...The past few weeks have been pretty good. I "cracked" before April ended (as is evidenced through the previous post), meaning May has been somewhat relaxing. I pushed through final papers and projects. The one looming dark cloud is gonna be the stats grade, but while the final was tough, I'm staying hopeful I will not have to retake the class. If I do, I'll suck it up and do it. (The pic below shows how much I love that idea.)
Some exciting things that have filled my time, beyond schoolwork, included taking in a Nationals game at RFK Stadium with Chris and Vinnie. That was pretty near the beginning of the team's slide downward, so we saw them lose to the Mets in 12 innings. Also, I went out to the Smithsonian's Air & Space Museum in northern Virginia and saw things like the Enola Gay (plane that dropped the bomb on Hiroshima) and a space shuttle. This weekend, I spent plenty of time outdoors, walking and visiting Laurel's Main Street Festival. Chris and I went, as well, to Kristan's for an impromptu soirée, complete with DDR and playing Wii.
Among my favorite moments of the past week, though, was our Go-hort dinner after the stats final. Some pictures have been scattered through this post. I am about the luckiest person ever to have this awesome group of classmates and friends. Alright, time to get going. Just when you think things can slow down... I'm off to a research team meeting!
